Dear wonderful fabulous Picnic lunch customers…

For nearly five years we have had the pleasure of offering you our lunches on a somewhat sporadic basis, but, at least, more often than not! Due to a variety of reasons, Picnic will be leaving our Emerson location in February, and starting immediately, discontinuing our lunch service.

Why no lunch? Because I’ll be cooking dinner! Believe it or not, I am opening a restaurant this Spring!!!!! Yippeeeeee!!! Right here in Bergen County, at the Radburn Plaza building in Fair Lawn, aptly named Picnic, The Restaurant. It will be housed in a nifty historical landmark and will be open for dinner Tuesday through Sunday and available for private parties Saturday afternoons and Mondays. I’m pleased to announce my partner in this endeavor is my dear friend and neighbor Annabel Schlair, a great gal from the other side of the pond who has made her home in Fair Lawn for about 15 years. She will be using her experiences to run the “front of the house” to make sure that the service we provide is as exceptional as the food coming out of our kitchen.

What of the catering? No worries there. We have a space we will be using locally until the restaurant opens in Spring of this year. We’ll have the staff and the space to do both things equally well, so continue to book your parties with us as you have through the years. What will become of Javi? Well, of course, he’s coming along as my sous chef!

I’ve had a ball getting to know you all personally though the past five years, and many of you have been customers from the day we opened. I appreciate all the support you have given to me and Picnic, and I am truly thankful for your friendship and kind words during some tough times in those years.

We are so excited about Picnic, The Restaurant, and look forward to seeing a lot of good familiar Picnic friends this Spring.
